The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has praised Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, who was the PDP’s vice-presidential nominee in the 2023 elections, for backing President Bola Tinubu.

He stated: “This serves as further validation of the president’s effective leadership and dedication to advancing our nation.”

On Wednesday, through a statement from his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike urged other Nigerians who have not yet taken sides to lend their backing to the President.

The Minister characterized Ifeanyi Okowa’s public support for the President, having been the running mate to Atiku Abubakar, as “a validation of my stance in 2023, which was grounded in the welfare of a unified Nigeria.”

I applaud Dr. Okowa and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for their touching decision, likely influenced by strong leadership and President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to unity and progress in Nigeria.

That’s what I’ve always advised others to express openly, rather than waiting until issues arise and start panicking.

They have arrived at an opportune moment to demonstrate their backing for the President, ensuring that the residents of the Niger Delta receive greater benefits from the administration, and I applaud them.

“I’m especially delighted that what I observed prior to the 2023 presidential election is now being noticed by others who are hopping aboard the Renewed Hope bandwagon,” stated the Minister.
