Pakistan, April 24 — Bollywood star Nushrratt Bharuccha addresses the backlash she has faced regarding her attire and visits to temples and places of worship for different religions despite identifying as a Muslim.

In an interview with Indian journalist Shubhankar Mishra, actress Nushrratt Bharuccha, frequently mentioned due to her ‘liberal Muslim’ label, states that neither online harassment nor criticisms will deter her from going to temples or offering prayers five times a day.

My faith feels very real to me. It’s these unexplainable occurrences that reinforce my conviction. They keep me engaged, resilient, and committed to following this journey,” she stated, underlining that her bond with spirituality is intensely private.

If you discover tranquility in places like a mandir (temple), a gurudwara, or a church, make sure to visit them. To be honest, I often mention that I perform namaz. Whenever I have free moments, I try praying five times each day,” Bharuccha stated further. “Additionally, I take my prayer mat along when traveling because wherever I am, I feel the same sense of serenity. My belief has always been that there’s only one God but various ways to reach out to him. Therefore, I wish to experience every single path available.

‘The Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ also emphasized that criticism and trolling have minimal impact on her. She stated, “These things do not alter me. They will neither prevent me from visiting a temple nor from offering prayers. I intend to continue with both practices because they represent my beliefs. Once your mindset, soul, and intellect are firm, nobody in this world can sway you,” she ended her statement.

In the professional sphere, Nushrratt Bharuccha has been most recently associated with the sequel of her horror film, ‘Chhorii 2’, which was penned and helmed by Vishal Furia. This production, starring Soha Ali Khan alongside Gashmeer Mahajani and Saurabh Goyal in pivotal parts, made its debut on the streaming service Amazon Prime Video earlier this month.
