The APC’s National Working Committee has praised Delta Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori for leaving the opposition PDP to join the ruling party.

The party celebrated the switch of ex-PDP vice-presidential contender for the 2023 general polls, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, along with key figures, assembly members, and high-ranking PDP officials who all made the move to join the APC.

In response to this development, APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka stated in an official release from Abuja on Wednesday that the party’s top governing body was greatly pleased by the governor’s choice along with several PDP leaders to join the ruling party.

The statement says: “Under the guidance of His Excellency, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, CON, the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress extends warm congratulations regarding the choice made by the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Sheriff Oborevwori, to become part of our esteemed party. This move also includes prominent figures from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) such as the ex-Governor of Delta State and vice-presidential nominee for the PDP during the 2023 national elections, His Excellency Senator Ifeanyi Okowa; key administrative personnel; heads and representatives of the legislative assembly; chairs and counselors at various levels within the state; alongside numerous leading members and supporters of the PDP.”

Our significant party embraces this crucial advancement and promises the Governor along with the new leadership and members of Delta PPD our complete support and collaboration within the APC community.

“This development follows the continuous shift of key figures and supporters from the PDP to the APC throughout the state, including those from the Delta Unity Group in Ika federal constituency. We are pleased to seeDelta State, now firmly within the APC fold, ready to significantly support the implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. This will ultimately benefit not only the people of Delta but also all Nigerians, fostering lasting well-being and progress for everyone.”
